Alex Mooswa

The family are saddened to announce the passing of Mr. Alex Mooswa in Red Deer, AB on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the age of 69 years.  A Funeral Service was held Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Moosomin Band Hall and Interment followed at the Moosomin Cemetery.  

He is lovingly remembered by his spouse, Sharmaine; children: Leon (Raine), Fenton (Robyn), Christopher (Leanne), Curtis (Michele), Leroy, Tyrone (Allison), Gail (Lee), Janaya, Mary; adopted children: Melinda, Kelley, Roxanne, Clyde (Chasity), Preston, Vincent, Desmond, Raven, Rocky "Sonny", Kehira "Kinkin"; brothers: Albert (Edna), Robert; sisters: Cecile, Gloria, Lillian (Arnold).

He is predeceased by his son, Howard; siblings: Thomas, Leo, Mary Rose, Jean, Josephine, Alice, Therea, Patrick, Edward, Joseph.

Alex was a respected elder who taught others about the Cree culture.  He was also a humble gentle man who helped anyone who asked.  Alex was very proud of his children and his family.  He always gave encouraging talks and great life advice.   Alex will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Trevor Watts of Eternal Memories Funeral Service & Crematorium.
