It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Cecil Gerritsen announces his passing on Tuesday, February 10th 2026 at 80 years young. Cecil passed away surrounded by his family. 

Cecil was born February 16, 1945 in Edmonton, Alberta.  

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Vicky, his daughters Christeena (Ken), Carrie (Ray), granddaughter Breanne (Ryley), grandson Shelby (Alyssa), & great granddaughters Amayalyn & Kynlee.

Cecil was predeceased by his precious great granddaughter, Blakely who is forever loved and never forgotten.

Cecil believed that life was meant to be met with strength, a smile and laughter. His humor carried our family through difficult times and made the good times even sweeter. He never missed the opportunity for a well-timed joke, had a gift for finding humor in everyday moments and reminded us not to take life too seriously.

He fought hard to remain with the people he loved. Even as his body grew tired, his spirit and sense of humour never wavered.

While it is Cecil’s wish that no public service be held, his family will remember him together in the ways he would have wanted - with love.
