Doris 'Marie' Tkachuk

Doris “Marie” Tkachuk (nee Mewhort) passed away peacefully at the Battlefords Union Hospital on Friday, November 29, 2024 at the age of 89 years. Marie is predeceased by her beloved husband, Bill Tkachuk; son, David Tkachuk; parents: William and Doris Mewhort; brother, Jim Mewhort.

Marie will be forever remembered as a devoted, hard-working, generous wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Whenever friends and family dropped by (as they often did), they were sure to be treated to a warm welcome and some of her delicious baking.

Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memory are her children: Linda (Henri), Father Barry, Patrick (Diane), Heather, Melanie (Dallas); brother, Bill (Maureen); sisters: Cathy, Pat, Isabel; sisters-in-law: Emily and Lorette; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society - 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4P 2R3 or to the Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation (Designate to Palliative Care Unit) - Po Box 1358 North Battleford, SK S9A 3L8.

Marie’s wish for cremation has been entrusted to Eternal Memories Funeral Service and Crematorium – Vanessa Macnab Funeral Director. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025 – 2:00 p.m. at St. Vital Roman Catholic Church – Battleford, SK with interment to follow.
