Elsie Heather Obituary

Elsie Viola (McGill) Heather, born April 6, 1929, went to be with her Lord and Savior November 1, 2023.

Left to cherish her memory is her children: Ina (Gary) Field, David, Matthew and Miranda Field, Eden and Kieran; Bill (Heather); Joan (Randy) Epp and Emily (Chris) Pike, Sam and Lydia; Audrey (Greg) Esselmont, Liam and Elliot; Donna (Glenn) Reif, James, Renata Heather, Sophia and JJ; Dolores (James) Shier; sister, Dorothy Michie; numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her husband, Willis; parents: Orville and Hazel McGill; brothers: Earl and Lloyd McGill.

She lived a rich full life and was open to adventures of many kinds. She taught herself to sew, knit, crochet, bake, decorate cakes and the list goes on.  She enjoyed a long career nursing at the Saskatchewan Provincial Hospital.  Driving friends to appointments and going on shopping trips in various towns and cities was part of her way of caring for others.  And she so loved her friends and neighbors who cared for her.  Many vacations were enjoyed, travelling with family and friends. During the past four years she moved to Regina to be closer to family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Versteeg and the nursing staff on 4A at the Pasqua Hospital for the compassionate care they provided for Elsie in her final days.
Thank you also to the staff and residents of Marian Chateau, who welcomed her to her new home in Regina, and to Regina Home Care for their care and patience.

A private family burial will be held in November at the City Cemetery in North Battleford, next to her husband. Arrangements entrusted to Eternal Memories Funeral Service – Vanessa Macnab Funeral Director.

A memorial service will be held in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the North Battleford Alliance Church - Box 1336 North Battleford, SK S9A 3L8.
