Henry Isaac Loewen

It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of Mr. Henry Loewen. 

Henry Loewen passed away at 66 years young. He was born in Wilkie, Saskatchewan, and grew up with his parents and two brothers. Henry was employed for many years at Maple Leaf Meats and later drove cab for 44 years on weekends and in his free time. He is known for his friendly nature and love of conversation, he remained connected to his work and community well into later life. He made his home in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, where he raised his daughters. He loved spending time camping, taking road trips, skiing, and enjoying numerous summer holidays in the mountains with his family. He was a devoted father who rarely missed an event, whether supporting his daughters at the Air Cadet Hall or assisting them with their paper route. He adored his grandchildren and was always ready for another fair, rodeo, demolition derby, or family supper whenever someone came to town.

Dad always said that everyone has a date and a time when they enter and leave this world. We are grateful we were able to spend his final two months by his side—sharing stories, many hellos and “I love yous,” and countless goodbyes.

Dad, you will always be missed. You are forever in our thoughts and prayers. For now, it’s goodbye until we meet again. We love you.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on December 30th, 2025 at 2 pm. It will be held at the Western Development Museum in North Battleford, Saskatchewan.  

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Natasha (Michael) Livingston, Chantelle Loewen; grandchildren: Zachery Livingston, Joshua Livingston, Micayla Livingston, Madison Opwam, Kyliee Loewen; brothers: Rick (Susan) Loewen, Edwin Loewen; nieces: Amanda (Mackenzie) Clare, Destiny (Dustin)Ruszkowski, and great nephew, Dominik Ruszkowski.

Henry was predeceased by his parents: John & Margaret; and his lifelong friend, Lillian Swiftwolfe of Moosomin First Nation, who passed just days before him on December 9th. He often said he could not live without her, and those words ring true today.
