Kathleen Mary Elder

We are sorry to announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Mary Elder, she lost her brave and courageous fight with Cancer. She was a strong-willed lady, who would never let you know the pain she was enduring daily. Her last big fight was against the dreaded illness Covid, in which she fought and won...but due to her failing health from cancer, her lungs could no longer support her.

She was born December 30, 1944 in Rocky Mountain House, AB.  Mary was an amazing tenacious woman with a nomadic spirit that faced challenges with courage, enthusiasm and determination. She was funny, kind and always welcoming. She loved spending time with family and friends, and always had the energy to walk to wherever her legs would carry her.

She is predeceased in death by her husband, Nick Elder; son, Darcy Elder and her brother, Harry Nicotine. Mary is survived by her sister, Cecilia Nicotine; her daughter, Dina Elder (Troy) children, (Kayla); son, Nick Elder (Jamie) children: (Jonathan, Courtney, Zachary, Skyler, Taryn and Lowen) and daughter, Joanne Beloin (Greg) children, (Sophie), step-son, Ralph Elder and step-daughter, Val Marie Penney. The apple of her eye, great-granddaughter, Allegra.  She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Per her wishes, she will be laid to rest with her son, Darcy, at a later date.
