Kim passed away at the BUH after a long health struggle on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at the age of 75 years.
Kim was the oldest child born in North Battleford to Frank and Shirley LaFrenière.
He is survived by his children: Krista, Benjamin and Joshua LaFrenière; Diane LaFrenière (former wife and best friend); his sister, Jana Mayer; his brother, Luke (Linda) LaFrenière; nieces and nephews: Alyssa, Byron, Danielle, Renee and Mark.
Kim had many interests: reading, bird watching, travelling, woodworking, sailing, skiing and spending time with those close to him. He loved animals and nature.
Kim loved life at the lake, most of all (his happy place) and spent every summer of his life there.
Kim was known as a teacher who could always crack a joke, yet would be firm when he had to be. This was also his parenting style!
He reminded his children to appreciate life’s small pleasures and to take time to stop and smell the roses!
