Ricky Hon Wai Cheung

It is with sadness that we announce the recent passing of Mr. Ricky Hon Wai Cheung on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at the Battlefords Union Hospital with family and friends by his side.

It is noted that Ricky and his dear wife, Jenny Wu, have been active entrepreneurs in the food services industry for over ten years in the Battlefords and area. In 2013 they began their venture into this business by operating the Lighthouse Restaurant in Cochin, Saskatchewan. In 2015 they had the opportunity to purchase My Friend’s Place in Battleford, renaming it R&J’s Garden Restaurant. The restaurant continues to operate and will be celebrating its 8th anniversary this coming May on Mother’s Day.

The family invites you to a celebration of Ricky’s life at Eternal Memories Funeral Service - North location at 2691-98th Street, North Battleford on Saturday, April 8, 2023. Viewing and visiting will take place from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. All Are Welcome!

Ricky is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Jenny Wu. He leaves behind his mother in Hong Kong, his sister and five brothers.

Jenny and the families wish to acknowledge with thanks, the long-time support of Adnan Zaidi from the Saskatoon Cancer Centre. Thanks also to Dr. Campbell, Jacky and the excellent nursing staff on the Third Floor Palliative Unit at Battlefords Union Hospital for looking after Ricky with compassion and wonderful care. Special thanks to Rev. Jo-Ann Hills, Third Avenue United Church, for her strong emotional support during this difficult time.
