Just talked to Ed Yadlowski and he gave me the shocking news. I have many memories of Bernie, especially Teachers College and our first years of teaching. I am glad that pI was able to talk to him not so long ago.

Please accept my condolences.

I had the privilege of knowing Bernie growing up on the farm at Ituna. Words seem inadequate to express the sadness I feel about the loss of such a wonderful person. Our sincere condolences to all his family.

My deepest condolences to Rita and Family. I was a student at Milestone, and Bernie (and Rita) made a big difference in my life. Bernie inspired an interest in science that lead to an engineering degree and a career traveling the world. And I remember the time after school that Rita spent with me on SRA - and how Bernie would drop in with a couple of cokes - even at nine I knew there was something special there!
My sincerest sympathy to you and your family.

We are saddened to hear this news and feel completely at a loss for words. We are certain that what has already been spoken over the last few days has said so much to honour a tremendous Dad, Papa, and husband but also has said so little in comparison to his long life and journey. We hope you find comfort in the stories about him and the memories of experiences with him that have shaped your own existence. We just recently heard the story of how Bernie and Rita ended up meeting with Mike’s mom Natalie at a church function and realizing the connection between their children!
We know what it’s like to lose a dad; please accept our deepest and most heartfelt sympathies.

Rita, Errin, and Kyla. So saddened to hear of Bernie's passing. Our sincerest condolences to you all. Our histories go back to the Broshko arrival in the Battlefords; through years of teaching together and childhood activities for our families. When all is said and done, we are left with memories and little else of consequence. Shared memories are especially valued and we have shared many in the past. We will remember and cherish as will you!

To all the family.

We were saddened to hear Bernie has gone. We know how hard it is to loose a loved one, but also realize it’s a journey we all will take sometime. It was just his time.

Upon reflecting on his long legacy he built over the many years we have known him, we know his time on earth was well spent. No one will know the impact he had on so many lives, but we know his values of honesty, integrity and caring nurturing will continue in those he touched.

He will be missed BUT not forgotten.

Our deepest sympathies Rita, Erinn, Kyla, and families. We always smile and think of Bernie on our trip to the Yukon and his idea of what a to stop and have a "stretch" as we toured around was. We have fond memories of him. I am grateful for his friendship with my parents and that we were lucky enough to spend time with him over the years. We can't be with you this week but we will for sure have a "stretch" for Bernie on Friday. Love and prayers to all of you! Carolyn & Curtis Fawcett

Rita, Erinn and Kyla - our hearts are very much with you at this sad time. Bernie was a very special in for many ways. We are grateful for the way he inspired our son, Kim, but we appreciated his quiet friendship. We join you as you say your good-byes and also as you celebrate the life of a very fine man who loved you with all his being.
